Product Quality

Many of you have been disappointed by the d.c.
lighting items you have purchased in the past.

There are a number of imported lights available
on the market that have less than admirable
track records.

One of our alternative energy suppliers sent us
a couple of samples of 12 volt d.c. fluorescent
lights to try out, this was after I told them that we
would not sell this quality of light.

I installed these in one of our stock rooms.
The ballasts whined so loud that we could only
take the noise for about ten minutes.
One morning I accidently left the lights on and
noticed them running after a couple of hours.
As soon as I walked into the stock room I could
smell the ballasts, they were too hot to touch.

Occasionally we get a call or e-mail from a new
customer telling us that they purchased imported
fluorescent lights which lasted less than an hour -
that is if they ran at all.

A few years ago we stocked a line of these imported
lights.
The failure rate out of the box ran from thirty to sixty
percent.
Of the ones that initially worked, about fifteen percent
of them failed within a week.
There is also a problem with consistancy in the color
output of the lights.
We would have a dozen 41K lights, they would be
different enough that you could just about use them
as Christmas lights.

In the long run we lost money on these, and more
importantly, lost customers.

Many lesser quality ballasts have a very narrow d.c.
input voltage range.
If the voltage is above or below this range they will
either fail to operate or burn out.

We have heard of, but not seen, similar problems
with LED lights.

If you want quality and dependability, you have come
to the right place.
